Topkapi Palace Museum

Located in Istanbul, Topkapi Palace is one of the most crucial historical and cultural sites in the country. It served as the home and administrative seat of the Ottoman sultans.

The architecture of the palace is characterized by a mixture of styles that were influenced by the Byzantines, Persians and Islamic designs. Palace includes a rich collection of such valuables as the Imperial Treasury, the famous Topkapi Dagger and the Spoonmaker's Diamond.

Opening Hours & Best Time to Visit: The Topkapi Palace Museum is open daily except Tuesdays.

  • Winter Season (Oct 30 – Apr 1): 09:00 AM – 06:00 PM (Last entry at 05:00 PM).
  • Summer Season (Apr 1 – Oct 30): 09:00 AM – 07:00 PM (Last entry at 06:00 PM).
  • Pro Tip: To avoid the largest crowds, try to arrive right at opening time or visit two hours before closing. Mid-morning is typically the busiest period for group tours.

How Much Time Do You Need?

To truly appreciate the Imperial Treasury, the Harem section, and the stunning views of the Bosphorus from the Fourth Courtyard, plan to spend at least 3 to 4 hours. The complex is vast, covering four main courtyards and many separate buildings.
